PROJECT PERSONNEL: Unstaffed - Owned, Operated and Maintained by New England District Corps of Engineers

DESCRIPTION: Federal acquisition and perpetual protection of 17 crucial natural valley storage areas (wetlands) totalling 8,103 acres in what is known as the middle and upper watershed of the Charles River.

PROTECTED AREA: In the event of a recurrence of the August 1955 flood of record, the project would minimize potential flood losses of over $12 million within the midle and upper reaches of the Charles River Basin.

TOTAL COST: $8,300,000
