DESCRIPTION: Federal acquisition and perpetual protection of 17 crucial
natural valley storage areas (wetlands) totalling 8,103 acres in what is known
as the middle and upper watershed of the Charles River.

- Total 8,103 acres
PROTECTED AREA: In the event of a recurrence of the August 1955 flood of
record, the project would minimize potential flood losses of over $12 million
within the midle and upper reaches of the Charles River Basin.
